Summary:As a Virtual Nursing Support Specialist, you will provide guidance and support to registered nurses working in direct patient care at CMC Plano. You will utilize the nursing process to deliver developmentally appropriate care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care.
This role is part of a pilot program and will be evaluated after a predetermined period of time for continued use, adjustment, or discontinuation.
Responsibilities:- Provide clinical expertise to support nurses at the bedside.
- Complete chart audits and communicate findings with bedside staff.
- Direct, delegate, and coordinate patient care, using clinical judgment to develop an appropriate plan of care.
- Perform admission profile documentation and discharge teaching with families.
- Collaborate with bedside staff to ensure patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations.
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement an appropriate plan of care.
- Advocate for patients, represent their concerns, and identify and assist in resolving ethical and clinical concerns.
- Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters in EPIC.
- At least 5 years of bedside nursing experience in the PICU.
- Four-year Bachelor's degree - BSN.
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements.
- PALS within 180 days of hire.
- CCRN required.
