Assistant Professor in Wyoming and the American West
Job Purpose:The Department of History at the University of Wyoming invites outstanding applicants for a tenured track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2025. We welcome candidates with proficiency in any time period or thematic specialty, broadly defined, whose expertise would strengthen the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Teach a 2x3 course load, including the survey class "Wyoming History" in fall and spring.
- Teach an undergraduate or graduate course in Western and/or Wyoming history.
- Contribute to the Department of History's funded M.A. program by supervising M.A. students.
- Undergraduate career advising and departmental service are also expected.

Remote Work Eligibility:This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
Minimum Qualifications:Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in History at the time of the appointment.
Desired Qualifications:The position provides generous support for faculty research, travel, and conferences, and has undertaken plans to devote its resources to an array of conferences, symposia, and new programs that will provide the holder of this position with an opportunity to help shape its future.
