Job Summary

Lochner is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Transportation Planner to join our team and support traffic analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to transportation planning projects for various clients, assisting in the development and implementation of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply diversified knowledge of transportation planning principles across a broad range of projects, including multimodal transportation systems, transit networks, facilities, and corridors, active transportation networks, traffic, trails, and paths, transportation/traffic development, innovative technology, local land use planning, and traffic analysis.
  • Work with a dynamic team to manage and complete project requirements.
  • Develop plans for utilizing land and physical facilities of cities, counties, and metropolitan areas, applying intensive and diverse knowledge of planning principles and practices in broad assignment areas.
  • Analyze transportation data and trends to inform planning decisions and recommendations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in urban planning, transportation engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in transportation planning, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex transportation concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Proficiency in transportation planning software, GIS tools, and data analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations and policies.
