Key Responsibilities

Peraton is in search of a highly experienced Systems Engineer to support our initiatives within the Streaming Platform division. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Evaluating user requirements, operational concepts, and overarching system architectures to create comprehensive system requirements specifications.
  • Leading the analysis of system requirements and guiding design and development efforts. Assisting users in defining requirements, suggesting alternative strategies, and conducting feasibility assessments.
  • Providing technical direction for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Incorporating new strategies, designs, and systems into existing operations.
  • Producing system architecture and design documentation.
  • Facilitating system development and implementation planning through the preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and testing plans.
  • Engaging with government representatives regarding technical aspects of Systems Engineering and addressing related challenges or conflicts.
  • Overseeing configuration management for both developmental and operational systems.
  • Collaborating with developmental and operational teams to establish and maintain configuration baselines (development, testing, production, etc.) for supporting systems.
  • Utilizing or recommending automated configuration management tools to enforce CM policies and procedures.
  • Creating or modifying configuration management plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the systems.
  • Contributing to the formulation of sections within systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding fundamental concepts and assisting in the maintenance and development of the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Assisting in defining and executing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, including the creation of product build scripts and their integration with the hardware and software build process.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is mandatory.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
    • Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience in developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for mid-to-large scale systems.
  • Experience in creating technical documentation for issues and/or training purposes.
  • Familiarity with agile and/or spiral development methodologies.
