Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at Baanyan Software Services, Inc. in New Jersey. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents to safeguard our organization's information systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Sentinel, Splunk, Chronicle).
  • Analyze and investigate security incidents, assess their impact, and recommend remediation actions.
  • Document and report security incidents to management in a clear and detailed manner.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and intelligence trends.
  • Assist in staff education by participating in security awareness training.
  • Help with compliance audits and maintain documentation for security policies and procedures.
  • Proactively conduct threat hunting to identify and address potential security risks.
  • Maintain and update incident response procedures and plans.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to enhance overall security posture and improve incident response capabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Networking, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a SOC or similar cybersecurity role.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, Chronicle) and endpoint security solutions.
  • Solid understanding of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems.
  • Knowledge of security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, ISO).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in cyber security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and CEH are highly desirable.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Burp Suite) and penetration testing frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security controls, and ethical hacking techniques.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and application security practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
