Vista Springs Quail Highlands is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver/STNA/CNA to join our team. As a Caregiver/STNA/CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comfort, safety, and general supervision to residents by assisting them with activities of daily living and tending to their individual care needs.
- Learn and understand the unique preferences and personalities of each resident to create a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment.
- Assist residents with meals, including preparatory work, serving, cleaning up, and setting tables.
- Participate in or lead leisure activities as planned by the Life Engagement team, and assist and remind residents to participate in activities.
- Perform general housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
- Assist with kitchen and dining room tasks associated with resident meals.
- Provide resident care as outlined in resident care guide/service plan.
- Answer residents' call signals and respond to door alarms, fire alarms, etc.
- Complete daily charting and documentation as required.
- Observe and report resident behavior and condition changes, including food/liquid intake/output, vital signs, skin concerns, weight, and signs of injury or neglect.
- Obtain residents' weight, vitals, and conduct blood sugar checks as directed, and report results to the resident care manager/resident care specialist.
- Adhere to procedures regarding equipment, cleaners, and other hazardous materials, and report incidents or accidents in a timely fashion.
- Attend mandatory in-service meetings and other continuing education opportunities as required.
- Display a caring, respectful, and positive attitude when addressing residents, family members, and co-workers.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- State-tested nursing assistant education in process or completed, or students in a nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy program who have proof of completed coursework to qualify to provide the care outlined above
- Basic knowledge of operating a computer and familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook in a Windows environment
- STNA certification
- First aid and CPR training
