Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Director will be responsible for supervising a team of maintenance technicians, developing preventative maintenance schedules, managing work orders, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of maintenance technicians to ensure tasks are assigned, prioritized, and completed efficiently.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and extend the life of facility assets.
  • Manage and prioritize work orders to ensure timely completion of repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures or malfunctions, providing hands-on support when necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and parts to ensure necessary materials are available for timely maintenance.
  • Collaborate with contractors and other departments to coordinate larger repairs, upgrades, or facility projects.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and other safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment for the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field, with at least 3 to 4 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, HVAC, Electrical) are preferred.
