The Community Housing Improvement Program, Inc. seeks a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance team and ensure the efficient operation of facilities and equipment.
Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Director will be responsible for supervising a team of maintenance technicians, developing preventative maintenance schedules, managing work orders, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of maintenance technicians to ensure tasks are assigned, prioritized, and completed efficiently.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime and extend the life of facility assets.
- Manage and prioritize work orders to ensure timely completion of repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures or malfunctions, providing hands-on support when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and parts to ensure necessary materials are available for timely maintenance.
- Collaborate with contractors and other departments to coordinate larger repairs, upgrades, or facility projects.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and other safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment for the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field, with at least 3 to 4 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment.
- Proven ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contractors.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, HVAC, Electrical) are preferred.
