Financial Reporting Analyst

Securian Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our financial reporting team, you will play a critical role in preparing and distributing internal financial statements, regulatory accounting filings, and external audited financial statements and disclosures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and completing financial reports on a timely basis
  • Analytically reviewing financial statements
  • Providing financial assistance to product line and subsidiary financial managers
  • Assisting with the quarterly consolidation of GAAP financial statements
  • Participating in the preparation of annual earnings, operating budgets, and goals and plans for subsidiaries
  • Assisting in monitoring accounting changes and ensuring they are addressed in financial statements
  • Responding to inquiries from internal and external clients regarding financial statement matters
  • Assisting in the preparation of information relating to multiple employee benefit plans and coordinating with external auditors
  • Assisting in keeping management informed of changing audit requirements and new disclosures
  • Completing monthly sales reporting and participating in special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles
  • Understanding of corporate system policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP accounting products
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
