We are seeking a highly qualified Paraeducator to support students with disabilities in a mainstream, resource room, or center-based setting. As a Paraeducator, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with varying abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities, including managing behavior, monitoring and recording student progress, and managing physical needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
- Provide one-on-one support to students with disabilities, including assistance with daily living skills, academics, and social skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Personal Care Assistant certification required within 30 days of start date.
- 60 semester/90 quarter credits or associate degree from a regionally accredited institution, or passed ParaEducator exam or ParaPro exam.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff, supervise students, and take direction.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and complete assigned days.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
$18.00/hour, or up DOQ with K-12 experience; $19.60/hour with AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits from a regionally accredited institution, or up DOQ with K-12 experience; $20.40/hour with BA degree from a regionally accredited institution, or up DOQ with K-12 experience.
Special Ed Paras serving Centerbased students and classrooms 50 percent or more of their time shall receive an additional $0.50 per hour. Special Ed Paras at Bridges, Pathways, or River Trail Learning Center shall receive an additional $1.00/hour.
