Job Summary:
The Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing laboratory testing of specimens submitted to the Clinical Laboratory. The incumbent must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing of specimens submitted to the Clinical Laboratory.
- Report abnormal/critical values per policy.
- Work in a team environment to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
Working Conditions:
The incumbent will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment.
Requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or a similar license of equal or higher level issued by the State Department of Health Services.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
