Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Intake Counselor to join our team at Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health. As the first point of contact for referral sources and potential patients, you will play a critical role in scheduling assessments and admissions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and complete the assessment tool for all clients.
  • Communicate with on-call providers and nursing to determine an appropriate level of care.
  • Document all findings and recommendations.
  • Assist clients in being admitted or referred out to the service or resource best suited to address their needs.
  • Manage referrals and ensure prompt response times.
  • Provide information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professional staff requesting information regarding potential admissions.
  • Complete insurance verification and precertification as applicable.
  • Participate in crisis and safety interventions as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field, or RN required.
  • At least one year of experience utilizing assessment skills preferred.
  • CPR certification required; CPI certification required.
