Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control systems and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Manage laboratory personnel, providing training and guidance to ensure technical competence and adherence to protocols.
  • Coordinate laboratory assignments, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Oversee instrument maintenance, calibrations, and verifications, maintaining records as per schedule.
  • Assure all necessary laboratory calibrations are performed, and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage laboratory equipment and supply inventory, coordinating replacement or repair of faulty equipment and supplies.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans to address non-conformances and quality control issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to laboratory personnel, addressing technical issues and conferring with the Laboratory Director as needed.

Requirements

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 2 years experience in a Petroleum Laboratory, or Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and 3 years experience in a Petroleum Laboratory, or 5 years experience in a Petroleum Laboratory.
  • Demonstrate strong managerial, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, outside consultants, and management.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of industry-related safety and training protocols.
  • Demonstrate the ability to grasp new procedures quickly and implement them.
