COMPENSATION:
$59,752 - $104,566

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Deputy Traffic Engineer to enhance our Traffic Services division in Castle Hayne.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate project designs and traffic impact assessments.
  • Coordinate ongoing projects and developments.
  • Conduct comprehensive safety and mobility traffic evaluations.
  • Participate in traffic planning discussions.
  • Oversee the work of Traffic Electronic Technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with NCDOT specifications through informed decision-making.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates will possess:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CADD/drafting software.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation engineering standards and protocols.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with contractors, the public, and various departments.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Experience in independently managing engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Capability to apply engineering principles to resolve intricate challenges.
  • Safety toe footwear is required.

Note: Registration as a professional engineer may be necessary.


Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
