We are seeking a Deputy Commissioner of Administration for the Horizon Juvenile Center within the Division of Youth and Family Justice. This position entails strategizing and executing improvements in detention management, workforce development, facility upkeep, service provision, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:- Overseeing critical projects that involve various stakeholders
- Executing a strategic vision for facility enhancements
- Leading coordination for procurement processes
- Working with other departments to establish quality assurance protocols
- Engaging with regulatory bodies and governmental organizations
- Managing staff operations and data monitoring systems
- Designing and implementing training initiatives
- Collaborating with partners to enhance facility performance
Ideal candidates will possess a master's degree in social work or a related discipline, along with substantial experience in managing systems that serve children and families. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with juvenile justice research, experience with national standards, and the capacity to lead and make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
This role is open to qualified individuals with disabilities who meet the criteria for the 55-a Program. Opportunities for Public Service Loan Forgiveness may also be available.
Residency in New York City is typically required within a specified timeframe following appointment. However, City Employees in certain positions may qualify to reside in designated counties.
