Job Title: Language Development Professional

Description: We are seeking a dedicated Language Development Professional to provide speech/language services to students with oral communication and speech/language impairments. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in speech language pathology and be licensed by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology.

About the Job: This 10-month, exempt position is responsible for evaluating and assessing students' functional status, selecting and administering specialized hearing and speech tests, and developing individualized education plans. As a Language Development Professional, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to implement therapy sessions that target IEP goals and provide consultation to teachers and staff members to ensure the integration of speech/language development techniques into students' classroom routines.

Responsibilities:
  • Confer with parents/guardians and provide them with support and information regarding their child's progress.
  • Instruct parents/guardians in exercises to implement at home and in the care and use of specialized equipment.
  • Serve as a resource to staff members and conduct workshops at assigned schools regarding speech/language services and proper procedures for the identification and referral of students.
