Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and court proceedings
• Handle complex tasks, including preparing legal documents and correspondence
• Manage day-to-day case management, including maintaining client files, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings
• Provide high-quality transcription services, converting verbal statements into written form for case documentation
• Conduct legal research, including statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes
• Prepare and format legal and management reports
• Liaise with clients to schedule meetings, gather information, and maintain strong relationships
• Ensure all legal documents are correctly filed with the courts in a timely manner

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably within a family law environment
• Proficiency in transcription with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
• Familiarity with legal procedures and protocols, and court systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact with clients in a professional and respectful manner
• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A paralegal certification would be a bonus
