Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Curator of Collections and Exhibitions to join our team at the Binghamton University Art Museum. The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating, organizing, and implementing an ambitious exhibition program, conducting scholarly research, and communicating with a range of audiences.

This is a full-time position that requires a commitment to the study and interpretation of the permanent collection of approximately 4,500 objects. The Curator will work collaboratively with the Director, registrar, and other departments to review metadata for objects in the permanent collection, advise on acquisitions and deaccessioning, and supervise collections interns.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in art history or a related field, 3-5 years of curatorial experience, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience in object-based teaching, knowledge of standard curatorial practices, and familiarity with Gallery Systems databases are also highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
