Job Overview

Position Title: Police Officer

Reports To: Police Sergeant

Compensation: This is a full-time role requiring a minimum of 86 hours within a two-week pay period, with potential for overtime, including evening and night shifts. The salary range is $61,560 – $90,422.

Job Responsibilities:

Police Officers are entrusted with significant discretion and responsibility while performing essential law enforcement duties. The primary responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting proactive patrols, responding to service calls, and enforcing laws to maintain public order.
  2. Investigating criminal activities, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, issuing citations, making arrests, and preparing cases for prosecution.
  3. Engaging with the community to identify and resolve safety concerns, ensuring peace and order.
  4. Exercising sound judgment and initiative in various situations, often without direct supervision.
  5. Handling high-stress emergency situations where the risk of injury or harm may be present.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred. Colorado Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification is preferred.

Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; bilingual Spanish skills are advantageous.
