Exercise Physiologist I TRI Part Time Job Description

At AdventHealth, we're committed to delivering exceptional care and service to our patients and communities. As an Exercise Physiologist I TRI Part Time, you'll play a vital role in our team, ensuring the operation of instrumentation, exercise equipment, and participant care within our Exercise & Bioenergetics Laboratory (EBL).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate participant health risks to ensure safe participation and determine level of monitoring/supervision in an exercise program.
  • Instruct participants in the safe and effective use of exercise modalities, exercise plan, reporting symptoms, and study organization.
  • Coordinate and supervise exercise programs with multiple participants exercising at one time while recording vitals (i.e., heart rate and Ratings of Perceived Exertion (RPE)).
  • Conduct 12-lead ECG/VO2max exercise tolerance tests, including treadmill and/or cycle ergometer, and perform manual or automated exercise testing blood pressure measurements.
  • Operate instrumentation, including calibration, quality control (QC) measures, troubleshooting of all exercise equipment, participant care, and scheduling within the EBL.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology or equivalent degree/education (pre-med, or science focus) or equivalent experience.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 1 year of experience with the application of exercise concepts/techniques/methods in a biological or medical setting (Preferred).
  • ACSM certification (i.e., CEP, EP-C, CPT) or equivalent/related certification (Preferred).
