Role Summary: As a Recreational Therapist, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment strategies for clients facing various challenges, including autism, traumatic brain injuries, and emotional disorders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Activity Facilitation: Conduct engaging sessions that include arts and crafts, music, sports, games, and community outings, aligned with therapeutic objectives.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans for optimal results.
  • Collaboration: Partner with healthcare professionals to integrate recreational therapy into comprehensive care plans.
  • Education: Inform clients and families about the advantages of recreational therapy and promote ongoing participation.
  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure all therapeutic equipment and supplies are well-maintained and ready for use.
  • Advocacy: Champion the inclusion and accessibility of recreational activities for all individuals.
  • Program Assessment: Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy programs and implement enhancements as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Qualifications:

  • Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • New Hampshire State License as a Recreational Therapist.
