Role Overview:
The Rotating Equipment Engineer plays a vital role in delivering precise pump repair quotations and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of work scopes/orders in a fast-paced environment.
The equipment serviced at Flowserve's repair facilities supports a variety of sectors, including oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, municipal water/wastewater, and power generation.
This position serves as the primary liaison between Customer Service teams and operational staff.
In addition to providing quotes, the engineer will also create shop routers and work instructions to support our aftermarket initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the repair and enhancement processes for engineered and industrial pumps and related equipment.
- Summarize disassembly and inspection results to generate customer-facing as-found inspection reports, detailing equipment conditions.
- Analyze disassembly and inspection findings to create repair and upgrade work instructions.
- Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to develop competitively priced quotations that meet customer expectations.
- Interpret technical drawings, industry standards, OEM specifications, and manufacturing processes to address reliability challenges.
- Assess the cost-effectiveness of repair options versus replacement component pricing.
- Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the quotation and technical review process.
- Act as a champion for integrity and ethics, fostering trust and setting a positive leadership example that inspires others.
Qualifications:
A technical degree (Associate's or Bachelor's in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering) OR a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience, preferably in rotating equipment repair.
Experience in equipment repair processes and procedures or within a manufacturing setting is essential.
Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, including technical documentation.
Strong organizational abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks and managing a high volume of work to meet specific deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
A high energy level and a robust work ethic, with the capability to collaborate closely as part of a team and inspire these qualities in others.
Self-driven with a commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Experience in supply chain, operations, purchasing, planning, materials management, customer service, engineering, product management, or manufacturing engineering is advantageous.
Familiarity with customers in the oil and gas, power, and chemical sectors is preferred. Experience with pumps and heavy machining processes is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, including industry standards such as API 610.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and/or 5S/6S methodologies.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
