Job Title: Maintenance Worker II

Join the City of Norfolk's Department of Utilities as a Maintenance Worker II in our Water Distribution Division. As a key member of our team, you will perform general labor duties, including equipment maintenance, fueling, unloading materials, and digging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dig and refill trenches and other excavations
  • Cut asphalt and concrete
  • Maintain lawns
  • Load, unload, lift, and carry tools, equipment, and chemicals
  • Makes minor repairs to underground water service lines
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience as a Maintenance Worker
  • Valid driver's license
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $39,575.00 - $52,040.00 Annually
  • Permanent full-time position with benefits, including paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave

Work Environment:

Work location: 1316 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, Virginia 23504

Work hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., with standby duty rotation every several weeks

This is an essential position, which means you may be required to work nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays, etc. in response to severe weather events and emergencies.
