Position Overview

The Financial Planning Associate II/III plays a vital role in supporting wealth management professionals, serving as a key link between advisors and operational staff to guarantee exceptional client service. This position requires a thorough knowledge of the financial sector and a strong dedication to being part of a team focused on providing holistic client solutions. Primary responsibilities include data collection, financial analysis, case structuring, scenario evaluation, plan formulation, presentation development, and engaging with a Foundations/Legacy client portfolio. The successful candidate will exhibit commitment, goal-driven behavior, and excel in both independent and team-oriented environments, with aspirations to progress into a wealth advisor position.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Planning Associate II/III will concentrate on the following tasks:

  • Collect, organize, and analyze client information within a financial planning framework.
  • Prepare and revise Client Planning Summaries (CPS) and Cash Snapshots.
  • Draft and update financial strategies, organize planner meetings, and formulate planning recommendations with minimal oversight from Lead Advisors.
  • Model and address client scenarios and inquiries with limited assistance from Lead Advisors.
  • Create financial scenarios and presentations for client discussions.
  • Lead all assigned Foundations/Legacy client meetings and actively engage in wealth advisor meetings by documenting notes and contributing relevant discussion points.
  • Ensure that CRM accounts are accurate, current, and reflect the appropriate account classifications.
  • Assist clients with eMoney navigation and other digital resources independently.
  • Develop deeper connections with clients through work-related interactions, meeting attendance, and understanding their specific financial circumstances.
  • Maintain precise financial links, beneficiaries, POAs, and RMDs in CRM.
  • Ensure timely communication with clients and advisors, aiming for responses within 24-48 hours.
  • Proactively seek improvements in the Associate Advisor role and enhance client service efficiency while pursuing opportunities to market and grow a client base.

Qualifications

The Financial Planning Associate II/III position generally requires the following qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in an Associate Advisor or Advisory role.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Series 65 certification is required.
  • Preferred possession of a CHFC or CFP certification for the Associate Advisor II position; however, CFP certification is mandatory for the Associate Advisor III position. Candidates without CFP certification must commit to obtaining it within one year of employment.
  • Demonstrated success in preparing meetings for lead advisors.
  • Strong understanding of account types, tax implications, and a basic ability to explain financial markets and current economic conditions.
  • Proficient knowledge of financial subjects (insurance, tax, risk, investments, cash flow, Monte Carlo simulations, estate planning, employer benefits, planning strategies).
  • Experience in client service is essential.
  • Ability to interpret and utilize risk assessment tools and results.
  • Familiarity with Schwab and Fidelity platforms.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM software, and eMoney.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • A collaborative team player, able to work effectively with others.
  • Willingness and ability to thrive in a small company environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation and benefits are competitive within the industry.

  • Base Salary ranging from $55k to $90k annually, plus bonuses, based on experience.
