Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach advanced practice nursing students in the clinical setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and mentoring students in one of the following specialization areas: Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, and/or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach clinical and theory sections of courses to graduate nursing students
  • Model professionalism and serve as a resource for students within the teaching-learning environment
  • Maintain required certifications/licensure and demonstrate continuing competence in area of expertise
  • Participate in course orientations and maintain ongoing communication with Lead Faculty and Program Coordinator
  • Comply with all requirements of the CONHP for teaching, including annual OSHA updates and CPR certification
Requirements
  • Licensed as APRN in the State of Illinois
  • Certified as a FNP, AGPCNP, or AGACNP
  • At least 12 months of full-time NP practice experience
  • Schedule flexibility to be available for students
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other computer applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Familiarity with a Learning Management System (e.g. Blackboard, Desire2Learn, etc.)
