Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Clinical Instructor to teach advanced practice nursing students in the clinical setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance and service excellence to constituencies.

Responsibilities

  • Teach clinical or theory sections of courses in one of the following specialization areas: Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, and/or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Model professionalism and act as a resource for students within the teaching-learning environment.
  • Maintain required certifications/licensure and demonstrate continuing competence in area of expertise.
  • Participate in all course orientations and maintain ongoing communication with Lead Faculty, Program Coordinator, and/or Associate Dean.
  • Comply with all requirements of the CONHP for teaching, including annual OSHA, hepatitis/TB updates, CPR certification, license renewal, and current CV.

Requirements

  • Licensed as APRN in the State of Illinois.
  • Certified as a FNP, AGPCNP, or AGACNP.
  • At least 12 months of full-time NP practice experience.
  • Schedule flexibility to be available for students.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other computer applications.
