About the Role

New Leaf Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key member of our Design Engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development of our clean energy projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and contribute to the design and implementation of innovative renewable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop distributed generation and utility-scale projects, utilizing your expertise in engineering and drafting skills, software knowledge, and project management.
  • Lead the design process, ensuring that projects meet New Leaf Energy's design standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage a portfolio of 25-30 active commercial, utility-scale solar, and/or energy storage projects, anticipating challenges and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering staff, including design drafters and other civil, structural, and electrical engineers, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of New Leaf Energy's business, leveraging this knowledge to drive project success and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 4-8 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or similar position, with a strong background in project management and leadership.
  • NABCEP Certification preferred.
  • Utility-scale PV and/or ESS development experience (100+ MW) is a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of system design and engineering concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient with PVcase, PVsyst, PVBid, and other relevant software tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
