As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating daily patient care, supervising nursing personnel, and supporting other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staffing and Scheduling: Manage staffing issues, including hiring, scheduling, and amending schedules to meet the needs of the unit.
- Supervision and Development: Supervise and train nursing personnel, including disciplining and addressing performance issues.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among nursing staff, physicians, care managers, therapists, and pharmacists to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Financial and Human Resources: Manage financial and human resources for the unit, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Operational Effectiveness: Oversee the effectiveness of unit operations, including patient record maintenance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Liaison and Strategic Planning: Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and upper management to ensure alignment with hospital strategic goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: Graduate of an approved RN School of Nursing with a current North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact. BSN required. Certification or leadership in specialty area preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in the specialty area and at least one (1) year of previous leadership experience.
- Certifications: NRP and Basic Fetal Monitoring certifications required within the first year of employment.
