Adjunct Faculty Position

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Studio Arts courses at Virginia Community Colleges. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses to students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach specific classes in Studio Arts, including Two-Dimensional Design, Three-Dimensional Design, Color Sculpture, Drawing, and Ceramics coursework.
- Develop course syllabi and instructional materials that meet the needs of students.
- Maintain accurate records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of Virginia Community Colleges.
- Stay current with developments in the field of Studio Arts.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Studio Arts or a related field.
- Qualifying degrees and coursework should be from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience teaching Studio Arts courses at the college level.
- Ability to work with a diverse student population and use instructional technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MFA in Studio Arts.
- Prior experience teaching in higher education.
- Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position. The teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs.
