Job Title: Director of Talent, Equity, and Culture

William James College is seeking a seasoned leader to drive organizational excellence in talent management, equity, and culture. The Director of Talent, Equity, and Culture will play a pivotal role in advancing the College's strategic plans, fostering a culture of inclusivity, and promoting diversity, equity, and accessibility (DEIA) best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for realizing DEIA training and education objectives, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of faculty, staff, and students.
  • Create and implement strategies for recruiting candidates that reflect the College's recruiting strategy, and develop best practices for improved recruitment and hiring practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of employee relations, including supervisory consultations, performance and professionalism, conduct, disciplinary issues, and termination.
  • Serve as Title IX Coordinator and maintain compliance with applicable laws.
  • Conduct investigations of bias incidents, discrimination, and harassment complaints, and provide mediation as needed.
  • Manage on-boarding and off-boarding of all employees.
  • Provide resources and direction for college-wide employee development, hiring, coaching, counseling, and career development initiatives.
  • Anticipate legal issues associated with recruitment, performance, and conduct matters.
  • Facilitate organizational development and employee training and learning, and devise effective strategies for evaluating and refining training goals and objectives.
  • Update and maintain personnel policies and procedures, and keep the employee handbook up-to-date and compliant.
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years of professional experience in human resources, preferably in higher education.
  • Experienced mediator with well-developed conflict management and resolution skills.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to balance sensitivity with efficiency, and attention to detail to the bigger picture.
  • Experience guiding supervisors and managers in employee relations issues.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • A positive and collaborative attitude, a team player mentality, and a sense of humor.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS Systems.
