Overview

Water Utility Technician

The provision of potable water is a critical function of any municipality. The water utility division in Highland Village oversees an extensive network of water and sewage infrastructure, including 100 miles of pipelines and all associated treatment and pumping facilities. As a Water Utility Technician, you will play a vital role in the installation and upkeep of water distribution and collection systems. Highland Village is a thriving community with a population of approximately 17,000, known for its family-friendly atmosphere in southern Denton County.

Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tank endorsement within the first year of employment.
  • Acquisition of a TCEQ Class "D" Water Operator License within the first year of employment.
  • Capability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Compensation and Qualifications: The hourly wage and job title offered will be determined based on experience and minimum qualifications.

Additional Information:
Most positions may qualify for extra compensation for certifications beyond the basic requirements. Pay for additional certifications typically does not exceed $100 monthly.
