Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Northwestern University, providing care to pediatric patients undergoing solid organ transplantation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in clinical child psychology and experience working with children and adolescents with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-transplant psychosocial assessments to facilitate family-focused readiness, adaptation, and coping with the demands of solid organ transplant.
  • Provide inpatient consultations for youth admitted for transplant-related care, offering ongoing support and assessing psychosocial factors that may contribute to poor transplant outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary outpatient transplant clinics, providing brief assessment and treatment during clinic visits.
  • Offer outpatient psychotherapy for youth and their families related to their transplant care, addressing issues such as adherence, adaptation, and coping, and psychological functioning.
  • Contribute to teaching and research initiatives.
Requirements
  • PhD or PsyD in psychology with an APA-approved internship in clinical child or pediatric psychology.
  • At least one training program must be APA-approved.
  • Fellowship-level training in pediatric psychology, including evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with complex medical needs, is preferred.
  • Training related to transplant care is also preferred.
