Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator to join our team at Prisma Health. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in quality assessment, quality improvement, and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality of care and service audits to identify areas for improvement and develop validated care standards.
  • Collect and analyze benchmarking data, focus studies, and clinical indicators to inform quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide education and training to staff on quality improvement and patient safety best practices.
  • Ensure loop closure and follow-through on action plans to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director, Trauma Nurse Coordinator, and other stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of care and develop policies and procedures.
  • Analyze trauma registry data and provide regular reports to identify areas for improvement and education.
  • Facilitate the identification and documentation of hospital-based and American College of Surgeons-approved performance improvement variances and complications.
  • Assess the need for and facilitate the development and compliance with trauma protocols, guidelines, pathways, and standard order sets.
  • Participate in trauma-related research by providing data to investigators in compliance with HIPAA and Prisma Health IRB regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 3 years of nursing-related experience, with experience in critical care, emergency, and trauma nursing preferred
  • Experience in Quality Improvement and research is preferred
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina
  • TNCC or related certification preferred
