Your Opportunity
Stantec is a renowned firm specializing in infrastructure, environmental, and social development services, committed to enhancing the quality of life for communities worldwide. We are in search of skilled Facility Condition Assessors to join our interdisciplinary team, focusing on a comprehensive Facility Condition Assessment initiative across various installations. Candidates should possess knowledge and experience in areas such as mechanical systems, electrical systems, building envelopes (including roofing), as well as structural and interior components.

The selected team will be responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of facilities and systems within various infrastructures on a full-time basis.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a detailed inventory of client facilities, accurately categorizing building components in line with ASTM UNIFORMAT II standards.
  • Execute assessments of client facilities, utilizing professional judgment to evaluate physical conditions and compliance with specifications and building regulations.
  • Familiarity with facility condition assessment software is essential. Experience with BUILDERTM, a web-based Sustainment Management System (SMS) developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, is highly advantageous; however, training will be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Utilize tablets equipped with cameras to document mechanical and electrical equipment, providing justifications for assessments of physical conditions.
  • Work under direct supervision, adhering to established instructions and standard practices.
  • Possess the physical capability to inspect extensive complexes, including mechanical and electrical systems, with assessors typically covering up to 5 miles daily.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong technical writing skills are essential.
  • Good mathematical aptitude is required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (50% or more) for assignments beyond initial projects.
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a drug screening.
Education and Experience
  • Proven experience or formal education in building and mechanical systems is necessary.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as Master Mechanic, ICC certification, and ASHRAE Level I and II energy auditor are advantageous.
