Job Summary

Columbia Basin College is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Program Support Supervisor 1. This position will provide critical support to the Career & Technical Education Department, assisting the Dean with various duties and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate program activities with relevant agencies and departments, promoting the program on campus and with external organizations.
  • Utilize advanced computer skills for word processing, graphics, database management, and spreadsheets to oversee the preparation of reports and publications.
  • Advise students, staff, program participants, and the public on program content, policies, and activities, recommending alternatives as needed.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, including projecting income and expenditures, maintaining records, processing funds, and handling requisitions and invoices.
  • Assist in devising and implementing new department procedures and exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying rules and regulations.
  • Establish work priorities and ensure deadlines are met, ordering supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Lead and direct the work of other classified personnel, training new employees and assigning and scheduling work.
  • Proctor School of CTE industry-specific credential examinations, ensuring adherence to testing protocols and maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of administrative support experience working in positions such as an administrative assistant, secretary, program coordinator, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or mentor role.
  • Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.

  • Collaborative mindset with the capability to work effectively within multifaceted teams.
  • Proficient in utilizing various technologies, including office productivity software, learning management systems, and other educational technologies relevant to the position.
Terms of Employment

This is a full-time classified staff position, eligible for overtime. The typical work hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with flexibility to work a varied schedule as needed.
