Job Summary

Catholic Charities West Michigan is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Welfare Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Child Welfare department, you will play a vital role in providing supportive services to families and children in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport children and biological parents to necessary appointments and visits
  • Supervise visits and document notes
  • Perform additional needs as related to the Child Welfare Department
  • Collaborate with FC Specialists and supervisors to schedule visits
  • Complete transportation logs
  • Coordinate and supervise visits for biological parents and children in the Child Welfare Program
  • Attend case review meetings, Family Team Meetings (FTM), and case conferences to maximize coordination and continuity of services for the foster children as needed
  • Transport client case paperwork to court
  • Follow all expectations as written in Catholic Charities West Michigan transportation policy / safe driving practice
  • Ensure safety of children through the proper use of car seats and seat belts
  • Maintain and clean agency vehicles/car seats on a weekly basis
  • Maintain and clean visit areas daily
  • Coordinate routine maintenance of Agency vehicles
  • Provide supervision and written documentation of parenting time visits
  • File paperwork and conduct concurrent audit reviews of client case records
  • Keep records of daily tasks/duties for monthly statistics
  • Attend program meetings as required
  • Drive for Agency business
  • Perform other special assignments at supervisor's request
Requirements
  • A High school diploma, GED, or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a Human Service related area preferred
  • A minimum of one-year experience working with children and families preferred
