Job Overview

Greene Lumber Co. is seeking dedicated lumber handlers to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in warehouse operations or general labor positions. We offer both full-time and part-time positions in a leading hardwood lumber manufacturing environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly Wage - $16/hour
  • Opportunity for Overtime
  • Full-time Schedule: 6am - 4pm
  • Part-time Schedule: 6am - 12pm
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package including health and life insurance, paid time off, and holidays

Responsibilities:

As a lumber handler, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying sort numbers for the designated carts.
  • Sorting and placing boards into the appropriate carts based on their sort numbers.

Board Stacking Criteria:

  • Ensure top, bottom, and outside boards are the longest.
  • Maintain all edges free from knots, wane, writing, and other imperfections.
  • Ensure bundles are square with edge boards aligned against the cart pipes.
  • Complete each bundle with a neat top layer.
  • Assist in pushing finished bundles for forklift removal.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in warehouse operations.
  • Entry-level labor experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in agricultural settings is a plus.
  • A high school diploma is preferred but not mandatory.
