Position Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and systematic Financial Operations Specialist to enhance our financial team. This temporary role offers a competitive pay range of $21-$25 per hour. The successful candidate will possess a solid background in accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks.Core Responsibilities
Financial Management:
  • Establish and oversee grant accounts; collaborate with the Finance Director to monitor and report on funds, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of grant and contract budgets.
  • Maintain internal controls to ensure proper utilization and reporting of grant funds.
General Ledger & Expense Oversight:
  • Ensure the accuracy of the General Ledger; perform daily reconciliations of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Review and authorize check runs, including electronic transactions.
  • Manage monthly allocations, expense adjustments, and vendor documentation.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
  • Administer petty cash and ensure adherence to purchasing policies.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of financial reports, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Coordinate with program leadership for precise financial reporting.
  • Support the analysis of financial reports and communicate monthly and annual statements.
  • Maintain organized financial records to ensure accessibility for audits.
  • Communicate financial matters effectively with the Finance Director and Senior Leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Proficient in QuickBooks; strong expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional judgment, organizational, and time management capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aspiring to advance within the accounting field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural differences.

  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
