Pediatric Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical settings.
This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician and is the primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical settings.
- Accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with the Divisions of Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Current California Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA.
- Current PALS Certification, issued by AHA.
- Furnishing number, State of California – Must obtain within 1 year of employment.
- DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications – Must obtain within one year of employment.
- Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) - Must obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National – Must obtain within 1 year of employment.
- Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services.
- Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division.
- Two years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area.
- Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills.
- Bilingual Skills desired.
The expected hiring range for this position is $74.51 to $102.45 per hour.
