Position Overview:
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner role is a vital position within Rady Children's Hospital, specifically within the Pediatric Orthopedic Department. This position is designed to support our outpatient clinic, focusing on the care of children with various neuromuscular conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Nurse Practitioner, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Collaborating with the neuromuscular team to provide care for patients diagnosed with conditions such as muscular dystrophy, congenital myopathies, and cerebral palsy.
2. Managing general pediatric orthopedic cases and participating in fracture management.
3. Performing basic orthopedic procedures, including closed reductions, aspirations, and digital blocks.
4. Occasionally assisting with Emergency Room and inpatient floor consultations.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- A valid Nurse Practitioner license in California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- A furnishing number from the State of California (to be obtained within the first year of employment).
- A DEA license if the position requires prescribing scheduled medications (to be obtained within the first year of employment).
- A Medicare Billing number (NPI) to be obtained within six months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are preferred:
- A Master's Degree in Nursing.
- A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, particularly in a specialty area.
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty.
- Skills in formal education or lecturing.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous.

Work Schedule:
The anticipated working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, with potential adjustments based on departmental needs. There may be occasional evening clinics until 7 pm, which will be compensated with an additional stipend. Currently, there are no weekend shifts required.

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is between $58.38 and $80.27 per hour. Rady Children's Hospital is dedicated to maintaining competitive compensation practices and regularly reviews market standards to ensure fairness and equity in pay.
