Become a vital part of our dedicated team at Northside Hospital, a leading healthcare institution recognized for its exceptional services and ongoing development. We are seeking a meticulous Birth Records Specialist to assist in the accurate documentation of birth records for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with patients daily to clarify the procedures for completing birth records
  • Ensure the accurate completion of birth record worksheets and input information into the Electronic Birth Record System in accordance with vital regulations
  • Confirm the completeness of details on birth records by reviewing parental medical documentation
  • Address calls and inquiries related to birth records and associated matters
  • Maintain a log of deceased individuals and submit reports to the state vital records office
  • Provide guidance to patients on how to obtain social security numbers and certified copies of birth records
  • Request birth record and stillbirth worksheets and forms from the relevant state authorities
  • Ensure the proper completion of paternity acknowledgments in compliance with state law

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a general clerical or customer service role
  • Proficient data entry skills
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology
  • Strong interpersonal abilities

Preferred:

  • One (1) year experience in a medical records department
  • Familiarity with electronic birth record systems
  • Associate degree in a public relations or related field
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute

Work Hours: 8AM-6PM

Weekend Requirements: None
