Job Description

At Boston MedFlight, we are seeking a highly skilled Marketing Communications Director to join our team. This is a full-time, exempt position that will play a critical role in ensuring cohesive positioning of our brand to drive awareness, interest, and philanthropic support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote our brand visibility and reputation in support of corporate outreach and targeted Development/fundraising efforts.
  2. Develop and manage all print materials, including annual reports, annual appeals, special events, and corporate/executive presentations, to drive awareness and enthusiasm for our organization and its mission.
  3. Ensure that all company materials have consistent and positive messaging and branding.
  4. Develop social media strategies that drive and enhance our presence and expand and engage our existing social media audience.
  5. Develop relationships with media and other platforms to optimize marketing communications.
  6. Collaborate with our external outreach efforts and messaging to ensure cohesion amongst internal departments and programs.
  7. Increase awareness of Boston MedFlight as a non-profit entity to support Development/fundraising efforts.
  8. Set and drive the company's media and public relations strategy in partnership with an external communications firm.
  9. Manage crisis communications in coordination with an external communications firm.
  10. Collaborate with our senior leadership team to develop and implement creative marketing strategies that will support organizational needs.
  11. Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor's marketing movements.
  12. Control budget and allocate resources amongst projects.
  13. Model compliance with our core values at all times.
  14. Possess professional behavior and appearance at all times in representing the company outwardly.
  15. Attend and assist all Boston MedFlight sponsored events as required.
  16. Research and evaluate advertising opportunities in various mediums, recommend direction and placement; develop messaging for appropriate audiences.

Requirements:

  1. BS degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience required.
  2. Four+ years' experience managing the marketing needs and internal/external communications for an organization.
  3. A minimum of three years of graphic design experience in a professional setting.
  4. Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
  5. Understanding of and ability to articulate agency mission and the voice of agency leaders.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively persuade audiences.
  7. Ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline.
  8. Experience developing and managing budgets and staff.
  9. Ability to think strategically about organization's communications needs in general as well as in the context of a major fundraising campaign.
  10. Must be flexible and responsive to the urgency of a situation.
  11. Attention to detail and ability to edit and proofread.
  12. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  13. Crisis management experience a plus.
  14. MS Office, publication and/or graphic software, website management experience, and social media familiarity required.
  15. Flexibility to work varied hours for events and to meet deadlines.
  16. Ability to travel to BMF sites and other locations as required, with the ability occasionally work nights and weekends.
  17. Must be able to read, speak, write, and comprehend the English language without restriction.
  18. Unrestricted travel.
  19. Massachusetts CORI and FBI background checks will be performed prior to employment.
  20. Valid driver's license required.
