Job Summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Technician to provide direct patient care and assist with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and activities, reporting any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggesting modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Provide crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Heartsaver CPR American Heart Association certification required.
  • Active, unrestricted Certified Nurses' Aide (CNA) certification by the Virginia Board of Nursing preferred.
