About the Role:

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Monitor Technician to provide services in a locked inpatient unit setting, ensuring a safe environment for psychiatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform continual surveillance of behavioral health unit monitors and operate the patient-monitoring system.
  • Monitor dining/day rooms and hallways on Behavioral Health when occupied by patients to assure patient safety in the environment.
  • Monitor patients for suspicious behavior indicating the possibility of self-harm.
  • Report incidents, utilize nursing staff for concerns, discuss recent issues, and any pertinent patient details with covering/on-coming behavioral health monitor technician.
  • Recognize patient behaviors in the dining/day room and hallway environment that may result in an unsafe situation.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • AHA BLS certification required.
