This role involves conducting technical and comprehensive analyses that characterize foreign cyber actors and threats, ensuring effective warnings and protection for U.S. national security.

The Cyber Analyst will contribute to various Defense Intelligence Enterprise deliverables, including foundational assessments, warning reports, technical briefings, and other analytical documents. Collaboration with the Intelligence Community, Defense Department, national laboratories, and academic institutions is essential to address cyber-related threat issues.

This position also entails providing mentorship to junior staff, reviewing the work of peers, and actively participating in multi-functional analytic teams. Staying updated on relevant cyber technologies, trends, and threats is crucial. The Cyber Analyst must articulate official government analytic positions during engagements and represent Defense Intelligence Enterprise analytic units as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, cybersecurity, political science, international relations, or a related field.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in intelligence analysis is required.
  • Familiarity with DoD, Service, and governmental computer network designs, systems, and programs.
  • Practical knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and processes.
  • Experience in risk assessment to identify potential impacts and vulnerabilities associated with foreign and malign cyber threat actors.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and datasets to support continuous cybersecurity monitoring activities.
  • Working knowledge of established Intelligence Community directives, standards, and tradecraft documents.
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses clearly to diverse military audiences and senior government representatives.
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility and willingness to undergo a polygraph examination.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or specialized coursework in computer science, Management Information Systems, cybersecurity, political science, international relations, or a related field.
  • Experience in conducting Information Operations Computer Network Defense/Exploitation assessments.
  • DoD 8570/8140 cybersecurity certification, including CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ Certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification, and/or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Certification.
  • Understanding of foreign military and adversary C4I and CNA capabilities and technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with security monitoring, threat hunting, packet analysis, malware analysis, signature development, and/or shell scripting.
