About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Chart Industries. As a key member of our process engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cryogenic systems for various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop process cycles, simulations, and heat & material balances
  • Conceive and manage Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Prepare process/rotating machinery equipment data sheets and equipment/utility lists
  • Perform process systems calculations, including vessel sizing, line sizing, hydraulic evaluations, control valve sizing, and relief valve sizing
  • Develop process descriptions for new project proposals
  • Participate in HAZOPs (Hazards & Operability Analysis)
  • Collaborate with Process Controls team to develop Control Narratives and Cause & Effect Diagrams
  • Assist in the preparation for Plant Commissioning, Start-up, and Operating Manuals
  • Participate in Plant Start-Up, Troubleshooting, and Performance Tests
  • Contribute to process engineering work process improvements and standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on process engineering experience, preferably with cryogenic industry experience
  • Knowledge of cryogenic process technologies, including hydrogen liquefaction, helium processing and liquefaction, natural gas liquefaction, air separation, etc.
  • Fundamental knowledge of chemical engineering principles (thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer)
  • Recent start-up and commissioning efforts in a cryogenic plant environment
  • Working knowledge of ASPEN, HYSYS, or other process simulation software
  • Understanding of basic applicable engineering codes
  • Proven teamwork, interpersonal, and organization skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for explaining challenges and solutions internally
  • Ability to interface with other engineering disciplines and with customers
