Position Overview

The role of 2nd Shift Motor Shop Supervisor is crucial for overseeing the operations within the motor repair facility. This position is designed for individuals who are dedicated to ensuring efficiency and quality in mechanical processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delegate daily responsibilities to shop mechanics and machinists, optimizing the use of time and resources.
  • Organize and manage tools, materials, and documentation to facilitate smooth workflow for shop personnel.
  • Identify and report any material defects, job delays, or inspection issues to the Operations Manager, along with proposed solutions.
  • Ensure that all inspection records are thorough and accurate.
  • Conduct final inspections of assembled equipment and components prior to shipment.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding project deliverables and progress.
  • Implement and uphold all procedures related to disassembly, troubleshooting, assembly, and inspection.
  • Promote safe working practices among shop employees.
  • Exhibit professionalism and respect in all interactions throughout the workday.
  • Perform additional duties as required to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

1. Previous supervisory or lead experience in a mechanical setting.

2. High School Diploma or equivalent educational background.

3. Experience in an industrial machine shop environment.

4. Hands-on expertise in electrical motor repair.

5. Familiarity with machine maintenance protocols.

6. Welding skills are preferred.

7. Experience with rotating equipment repair is advantageous.

Additional Skills:

8. Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards is a plus.

9. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders.
