Position Summary:
Fisk University is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in the fields of Biology and/or Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BMB). The ideal candidate will be a dedicated educator and researcher with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and the ability to develop a research agenda that attracts external funding and results in peer-reviewed publications with undergraduate collaborators. The successful applicant should be prepared to instruct introductory General Biology courses and advanced courses aligned with departmental needs and personal expertise. The specific focus of the research program is flexible, but it should support undergraduate and Master's level research initiatives. Additionally, the faculty member will have the opportunity to mentor students in the Fisk-Vanderbilt Masters-to-PhD Bridge Program and/or the Fisk-UIUC Masters-to-PhD Bridge in Quantitative Biology. A PhD in Biological/Biomedical Sciences or a related field is mandatory, with postdoctoral experience preferred. Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties encompass teaching courses within the major, establishing a productive and impactful research program involving both undergraduate and graduate students, and providing academic guidance to students in the major. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse student body and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds. Participation in university committees and contributions to the advancement of the University's Mission and Vision are also expected.

Qualifications:
Education:
A PhD or equivalent in Biological/Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines from an accredited institution is required.

Experience:
Prior experience in college-level teaching and/or training is preferred. The candidate should possess a proven record of research and publication in their area of expertise, along with evidence of successful mentorship.
