Job Summary:

Benchmark Electronics is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for performing skilled electrical work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance as required to ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems.
  • Support repairing and troubleshooting automated equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Modify circuits and other electrical equipment under the direction of experienced employees or vendors to meet changing business needs.
  • Troubleshoot ladder logic controls on various platforms to identify and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot Building Control Circuits to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Work in the maintenance and testing of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide hands-on training to support staff and new hires on facilities processes and responsibilities.
  • Initiate and perform preventative maintenance as required on a wide variety of electrical power equipment.
  • Modify circuits and other electrical equipment to meet changing business needs.
  • Program and troubleshoot ladder logic controls on various platforms to optimize system performance.
  • Program and troubleshoot Building Control Circuits to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee sub-contractors in the related electrical field to ensure high-quality work.

Requirements:

  • Competent PLC experience to design and implement control systems.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Proficient with hand-held mechanical and powered tools, HVAC machinery, test equipment, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret wiring and blueprint diagrams.
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to complete projects in a timely manner to meet business objectives.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to support business needs.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism when representing the company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well individually or in teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with suppliers to source high-quality materials.
  • Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Available for travel up to 10% of the time, including day and/or overnight travel as required.
  • Participate in a continuous improvement activity to drive business growth.
  • Proficient in the maintenance and testing of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Understanding of local NEC and NFPA codes as they apply to the electrical field and building industry.
  • Proficient PLC experience to design and implement control systems.
  • Proficient undertaking a project - including leadership/ownership to drive business objectives.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED; 5+ years of Journeyman level experience; Ability to perform more complex electrical work with limited guidance.
