Job Summary

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our clinical team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for accurately filling controlled medications, providing clear and concise communication with patients and clinical staff, and participating in Medication Therapy Management.

Key Responsibilities

Review prescriptions issued by providers to ensure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
Accurately fill controlled medications, prescribed by Providers, in a timely manner.
Participate in Medication Therapy Management by reviewing patients' medications and making clinical recommendations to providers based on current guidelines.
Provide counsel for patients with instructions on medication use.
Maintain established procedures concerning security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste.
Enter data accurately into information system.
Communicate effectively with clinical staff and Providers.
Prepare required reporting, as needed.
Pre-authorize medications as required by payers.

Requirements

Must hold current Kansas Pharmacist's License.
Maintain Continuing Education as required.
Previous experience preferred.

Working Conditions

The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
