Job SummaryWe are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at the Duke Primary Care - Patient Engagement Center in NC. This is a hybrid role, working 8am-5pm, with the opportunity to work remotely after a 90-day probationary period.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Assist medical and nursing staff during examinations and procedures, collect and prepare laboratory specimens, and perform basic laboratory tests.
- Document patient information in the medical record and communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as delegated and supervised by the physician.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
- High school or GED graduation is required.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is required for Level II and III positions.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA is required.
- BLS certification is required.
